HooKah brings us the CAM of the movie Imagine That. What sets Imagine That apart from the pack of indistinguishable family films is the brave choice to never show Olivia’s fantasy kingdom. We don’t see the princesses or the dragons, so the film stays grounded in the real world — and that fits because the movie isn’t about escaping into fantasy, it’s about learning to listen to the people in your family. The movie subtly establishes the emotional insecurities that drove Olivia to create her pretend universe, and also why Evan would find solace in it himself when he begins losing self-confidence at his job. In his latter-day career in family movies, Eddie Murphy has seen decidedly mixed results, but “Imagine That” is pretty much in his wheel-house. It plays to his strengths as a performer, giving him solo bits that do not diminish the ensemble work, and pairs him with a child actor who gives as good as she gets. Judging from the sample, well it’s a CAM, lot of flicker and bit dark, audio is not bad at all for a CAM. Suggest you wait for a better quality release out, but if you can’t wait …. Enjoy!

Plot: A powerful financial executive whose career was sent spiraling down the drain due to sudden lack of confidence finds the answers to his inexplicable setback in an imaginary world dreamt up by his young daughter in a fantasy comedy starring Eddie Murphy and co-scripted by Ed Solomon and Chris Matheson (the writing duo behind Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure and Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey).
