DoNE brings us the LiMiTED DVDRip of the movie The Mysteries Of Pittsburgh. It’s particularly difficult to adapt a novel where the main character is foremost an observer, an attendant knight who by nature generally avoids action. It’s the players that invigorate “The Mysteries of Pittsburgh” and keenly flesh-out its emotional dimensions. Jon Foster is superb as the conflicted Art, evincing mettle as a young man overcome with a sense of doom. In the film’s most flamboyant role, Peter Sarsgaard’s devil-ish charisma and cold bluster is frightening. He truly hypnotizes those around him, including his upper-class girlfriend (Jane Bellwether) who is destructively entranced by his bad-boy wiles. It’s a pleasant to watch, but easily forgotten drama. Judging from the sample it’s your typical DVDRip. Quality wise it is good and with clean and clear Audio and Video tracks.

Plot: Adapting a subtle, treasured novel is no enviable task. Yet its that admittedly mammoth undertaking that is at the core of the success or failure of THE MYSTERIES OF PITTSBURGH, director Rawson Art Bechstein (Jon Foster) is struggling with his new-found post-college freedom and is looking to sleepwalk through the exams that will send him far away to a job chosen by his gangster father (Nick Nolte) and hide him from his familys criminal connections in Pittsburgh. But Arts fortunes soon change when meets the beautiful and wild Jane Bellweather (Sienna Miller) who he finds an immediate connection with. Art quickly encounters Janes on-again off-again boyfriend Cleveland (Peter Sarsgaard) who takes Art hostage from his dreary summer job and opens his eyes to the fun, freedom and excitement summer life should bring. Art soon realizes that his summer has finally begun in what would become the last true summer of his life.
